She was in the passenger seat when they pulled her from the water a year later. IMO She trusted the person that did this to her.. its a shame no one is being persecuted for this.
#MMIW Mysterious Death: New Town, North Dakota, 2017.
On October 24th, 2017, 32-year-old Olivia Lone Bear buckled herself into a friend’s teal 2011 Chevrolet Silverado and left the Sportsman’s Bar in New Town, North Dakota.
Two days passed without contact from Olivia, so Harley “Texx” Lone Bear worried his daughter might be in trouble. On October 26th, Olivia’s brother, Matthew, posted on Facebook asking if anyone had seen or heard from Olivia. The following day, Texx filed a missing person’s report.
On July 27th, 2018, after several months of searching the Fort Berthold Reservation, a group of volunteers brought a fishing boat out to Lake Sakakawea.
At the bottom of the lake was the teal truck Olivia was in the night she went missing. Still strapped to the passenger’s seat was her body and the passenger windows were broken. The truck was submerged in more than 20 ft of water and was found 400 ft from the shore. The site was just a mile and a half from her home. No injuries were found on Olivia’s body, and medical examiners ruled her cause of death as undetermined.
In 2020, investigators continued their search for answers. FBI’s Kevin Smith said, “Sometimes in cases like this, as time marches on, people remember things, allegiances and friendships may change, and someone might have some information they could tell us that could be a real break in the case.”
Olivia Lone Bear was from the Three Affiliated Tribes. She was a loving mother of five, and her children have had to grow up without her. What happened to Olivia?
The Lone Bear family just want justice. Share her story. Remember her name.
If you have any knowledge about Olivia’s death, please contact FBI at 1(-800)-225-5324. They are offering $10,000 to anyone with information.
