An ageing Lakota storyteller (August Schellenberg) regales a teen (Eddie Spears) with the legends and wisdom of their tribe during a road trip to New Mexico
Filming lasted four months and took place mainly in Canada, Arizona, and, New Mexico. Representatives of the Lakota, Kiowa, Cheyenne, Pawnee, Blackfeet, Mohawk and Crow tribes came on board the film to evaluate the authenticity of the production during filming and to suggest changes.
